What You May Want to Know
── THE PIECE ──
Q1. What is Pashmina, and why is Ashwaa Pashmina different?
True Pashmina comes from the undercoat of the Changthangi goat, which lives at 14,000 feet in the high altitudes of Ladakh. The fibre measures under 15 microns — finer than any cashmere produced anywhere else in the world. Every Ashwaa shawl is woven from a single Pashmina fibre, traceable from herder to weaver, and never blended.
Q2. Each piece is "one-of-a-kind." What does that mean in practice?
The motif on every Ashwaa stole is applied by hand — by a painter, an embroiderer, or both. No two pieces are identical. Slight variations in line, density, and finish are the signature of the maker, not a flaw.
Q3. Can I commission a custom piece?
Yes. For private commissions, monograms, or custom motifs, please write to us at info@ashwaa.com. Lead times typically range from eight to twenty weeks, depending on the complexity of the work.
